Metal Sign In The Zoo

A fellow New Jersey resident and frequent visitor to the Samalou too blog, read my previous post about the Turtle Back Zoo logo I designed for the Essex County zoo. She was nice enough to send me this photo from a recent visit she and her family enjoyed at the zoo. Apparently the logo is fabricated from metal and is at the entrance of a playground inside the zoo.

As I stated in an earlier post sometimes when you do a logo for a client they just want the final logo handed over at the end of the job and that's it. As the designer you don't always get to review the logo design in all the different iterations the client wishes to display it in. Such was the case with this logo. If you look at the final I supplied and compare it to the metal sign, you can see what a poor representation the metal sign really is. I wouldn't have approved this sign had I seen it before it went to production. But it's out of my hands at this point.
